Door with Sidelight Instructions

I did not receive any bites in the content newsgroup, so I am reposting
here. Any takers?
David

I agree, the tutorial was good and the steps Autodesk makes you go through
are convoluted.

I tried using this process to make a window assembly with a double door (6'
w x 7' h) with sidelights (3' w x 6' h). The door in plan view offsets
itself approx 3' from the insertion point, but breaks the wall as if it
wasn't offset. In an orbited view the opening aligns with the door. Has
anyone seen this problem??

P.S. Drawing file in C.F. as ADT drawing.dwg

i have posted this before but no hits so i'll try again. whenever i use the
layer manager to edit the layer standards when i close the dialog box down i
get the message "cannot find the resource string 11717 (at times several
different numbers are displayed) in resource aecuibase" i don't know if
this is creating any problems or not but i would like to know what this
means.

Mike,

Please see my post dated 8/1/2001 4:15PM for my response.

Essentially the message is harmless... and is logged for future repair

I remember running into this problem a while back in beta testing, and I was
able to track it down to something I did while using a custom grid converted
from linework. He** if I can remember what the issue was now... Did you use
a baseline of something other than "Default" when converting the linework?

Was trying out Window Assemblies the other day and I think same problem
happened. In a 3D view the assembly looked right but in Plan and Reflected
views the wall was cut right but the Window assembly was offset by some
strange dimension to the left..
I know I picked something other than the baseline by mistake. Redoing the
assembly corrected the problem.
