    Access Violation Reading

I just received this message three times in a row:

    C000000005 (Access Violation Reading 0xfffffff
    @ address 5F49B889h

I have received this before, or at least something similar. When this type
of error comes up what does this usually mean?

I'll post a copy to the customer files. I'm also going to try that ole
    faithful, restarting the computer.

I just opened your file and did some quick looking around, and did not
achieve any crashes..... Did your reboot work?

once i restarted, everything worked. i personally think windows 98 and adt
have a little hissy fit every now and then and refuse to open the object
viewer. this is the second or third time this has happened and it's only
been with r2 and the object viewer.

how about a word or two from the programmers?

i'm using the RAGE PRO TURBO 2X (english)(DirectX).

while i'm not genius with computers it just seems logical that it could be a
video problem. this happens maybe once per month so i'm willing to live
    with it.

    Patrick,

The Autodesk guys probably can't say too much about it one way or the
other. There's this little thing like "logo compliance". So, as a
completely independent, NON AUTODESK EMPLOYEE, I will tell you:

WINDOWS NT IS MUCH MORE STABLE THAN WINDOWS98.

Period. It doesn't matter WHAT you're running. ADT, Word, or Explorer.

I just ordered my new system and I have been on 95 and 98. Should I get NT
instead. I worry about my existing windows programs running on NT.

    Installation programs
    Corel
    Autocad
    MS things
    CD writer
    Whatever

    Get this
PIII 600 with 256 ram, 32 meg Viper card, and 23 gig HD.
    Uh uhhhh!!!

I am pumped. Come and get me ADT. (probably crash more often with my luck)

Yeah Baby!! Just in time for QuakeIII!

Oh just get NT. Anything else is a waste of computer cycles.

    Remember this thought:

No one in the history of the world has correctly installed NT,
correctly used it, and learned about it's power and said, "Boy this
    sucks. I want Win98 back."

But many have installed Win98 (is there a correct way to install it?
) and said, "I want my Win95 back".

Go with NT, Rob. Especially if you plan on using ADT, and even more so
if you plan on using VIZ.

    There is no comparison.

If you need to run games on it, use a dual boot system, but if you're
like me you have no time for games anymore anyway.

I just was told that playing games on NT is a nightmare. Why do you guys
think I was getting this computer...GAMES.
