AEC Objects in 2D???

I would like to know if there is a way to utilize the AEC walls, windows, doors, etc., without having the problems of 3D regeneration. We typically have large files with lots of xrefs and the files take very long to regen & lots of memory. Is it possible to have the items drawn in plan view only without the 3D elements.

Objects are in 2d when you view them in plan view. With display settings ou can force them to be 2d also in other views. I'm not sure if this has any effect on the regeneration speed though, try dividing large projects into divisions.
