    ADT Walls IMPRECISE !!

    Hey there,
we are working on a larger project in ADT, and I keep finding walls that should be 100% orthogonal, but turn out to be just slightly rotated. I can tell by adding a construction line snapped to one corner point of the wall and then zoom in very closely on the other corner point on the opposite end of the wall.
Anyone know what that is, how this happens?

    Thanks

The only "imprecision" we've noticed is missing
"the click" just a little when using polar and otrack.  Maybe it's too much
coffee, but it's a recurring problem among all of our
    people.

You should try putting "ortho" on or entering angles on the command line. The error may be in reading the angle "readout" and the precision it is set for.

Also I just remembered this. If you are looking at the lines on your monitor and they are a different color, it may only be an apparant error. Some times different colored lines "break" pixles differently. Measure the distance from end point to end point of same length lines to check for sure.

I have found wall that are off by less than 1/256
of an inch.  And I don't know why they're off. Could the Auto cleanups be
throwing it off?  error in the algorithm?

That is most likely a drafting error, commonly referred to as an
    OE.

AutoCAD/ADT precision is excellent, except for limitations your
drafter imposes such as eye-balling and setting UNITS
    incorrectly.

A simple test: re-draw it again, correctly, using all the
precision tools provided, then compare it to the original (just
like your review): bet they don't match up since the first was
    not drawn correctly.

What you lack in tact you certainly make up for in enthusiasm, Dean. I
    agree on this one, though.
