is there any chance to force Alias to export the group- and shell- or surface-names in STP? It exports the layer-names allright, but if the target software does not support layers its not possible to transfer a file structure. It ends up in a bunch of geometry-parts having all the same standard names "Alias Surface Model" or "...Shell Model" ...
In IGES the group and surface names are exported - but only the first 8 digits! So it ends up in the same name-mash.
Is it possible to manipulate the IGES config files in some way to force longer names?
atm i am trying to get things straight between Alias and VRED essentials. Does anyone have experience with it and can suggest a proper workflow?
