First, to clarify, e-mail is not a file format, it's a method of sending text and files and other objects. (Certain email clients [software] have both generic and proprietary formats that they use when storing emails individually as files, but that's not relevant)

Your best way to send it is as an attachment. If the recipient has AS9 you can just send the .skf file. Otherwise, for general use (i.e. something that practically everybody can open) converting it to a pdf and sending the pdf as an attachment is a nice way.

Choose File>eTransmit. Your drawing will be
automatically attached to a "compose" screen in
your default email client in three formats: a ZIP
file of the drawing(s), a bitmap and an htm file,
along with any notes you attach to a specific drawing.

You can then open the email "compose" screen and
write what you want in the normal fashion. Also
you have an opportunity to delete any of the
drawing formats or notes that are attached, or
leave them all. The latter will give the recipient
all the options he needs to see the drawing(s).
The only issue there will be the size of the
email, you may be limited by either your own or
the recipient's server. You may only want to send
one format, your choice.

AS9 cannot save directly as a pdf unfortunately.
At least my version can't.

Mine won't either. But you can get download free software (or pay a lot for Adobe Acrobat) that does that and it shows up in the AS print dialog looking like just another printer.

Correct, you can indeed print to an Adobe file, I
get that choice because I happen to have Adobe
Acrobat 6 installed, not inexpensive. It's a lot
of money to create a proprietary file for
occasional use though. Adobe worked that out with
clever marketing over the years.
