I receive dxf & dwg files from our technical dept,
when I open in AS7, the dimensions are in imperial
measurement, when the original was sent in metric format.
discussed with IT dept, which suggested it may be
initialization setting.

please advise any information

When you select DWG or DXF in the Open Drawing File dialog, an
[Options...] button becomes available. Click on it and you can
set the import units.
