drawing limits?

I am trying to teach myself some auto cad with a book called no experience required. One of the first things to do is resize grid to 60' x 40'. I adjusted the scale like they asked. my grid goes way beyond the 60'x 40'. can I make this adjustment? thank you

I am presently learning about scaling in AutoSketch 7 .

Suggest, 1) always mention the version of software pack you are working with. 2) begin on forum by exploring the "search" function {enables one to read previously posted questions/answers to related issues}. If you are using autosketch , search this group for , say, 'scale'. If using AutoCad 98, goto that forum , and use the 'search' feature there. If you find a perfect answer, that's it. If you find a topic very close , you can reply to it (ask quest relative to it), or start a new thread.
