Text Symbols?????

I am using Autosketch V5. with My OLD version 2 I could add a symbol in a
text line by typing for example: 5.00" %%c to show a 5.00" round hole
symbol. Same with degree, radius and etc. Any way to do this on V5?

Also, any recommendations on upgrading to latest version, Would I have a
HUGE learning curve like when I went from V2 to V5?, Would you upgrade? Why?

THANKS!!!!

In order to do this now the windows character map has to be loaded. Then in the
text editor there will be a symbol button to use it. Browse in there for the
correct character to use and place it in the correct spot in the text editor in
the line of text.

The biggest changes in version 8 from 5 are going to be some errors are cleaned
up and printing the grid and a really neat way to create your own hatch
patterns.Plus it is supported on Windows XP.

Oh and don't forget my personal favourite....the ability to draw clouds!

Why?

Since version 5 the actual interface etc has not changed much, the main
differences have been in "added features" such as the pretty lame 3D
extrusion, clouds, etc etc. I would hang about in here a bit before
getting V8, some of the old sweats are sure to dig up a few "added features"
that might be a bit of a problem. Also bear in mind that being designed to
work for Windows XP (Xtra Pathetic maybe?) V8 doesn't support win95, and
probably isn't too-efficient with memory in win98.

Sadly I'm not in a position to be able to upgrade since we can only run
win95 here at the office, plus the lack of an "upgrade" price makes it a bit
pricey.

Hi Stephen

There is an upgrade price on the UK web site, that's where I got my
'upgrade' from.

Pity it's on backorder :>(

These clouds sound great but on the elevations for my houses what distance
above the roof lines should the clouds be???? (presuming it's not raining)

Ah, I read somewhere that there would be no upgrade available, not that it
makes mcuh difference.

In the Text Input Dialog Box, Click on Editor--the Character Map Button is on
the far right of the Icon Bar in the Edit Text Dialog Box..
