Raster to Vector Software

Are there any recommendations for raster to vector conversion programs? I
want to convert topo maps from scan or .bmp, .tif to .dxf or .dwg. I have
tried some of the demo downloads and have not run across one I like yet.

i have yet to find anything that does a good job...

i generally just break down and digitize or scan it in and trace-away...

the other problem is that if your using autosketch you will not be able to
save Z data... no fun if you want to use autocad... there's nothing worse
than lofting 8 bagillion contour lines...

Dennis and John,

You might take a look at Stephanie Yoder's web site. She lists a couple of
different raster to vector converters. I don't know how well they work but you
could probably ask her.

I used the MagicTracer raster to vector conversion program on some large images that came out really well.
