    Greig,

The 12 items I have been referring to and had hoped to see
listed where the ones you originally mentioned on 11/27/01.
    You wrote:

I personally never mentioned "Macros" because I started with R5
and never knew they existed or what they did.
Never asked about Windows XP and as very satisfied user of R6.01,
except for the line weight issue, I had hoped that it would have
been on the list of the 12 corrected items in R8.
    You explained why not.
Only one question left from someone older than Harvey:
Is there a spark of hope and will it EVER be changed?

    Gerhard,

I apologize that I am unable to publish the top 12 as they are a part of the
defect list. If I get permission otherwise, I will backtrack on this and go
    ahead and do so.

If you mean the lineweight issue? Yes, but this would mean a file format
change to a true AutoCAD dwg. Given the many, many complaints we have
received about this I feel that it would be at the top of the wish list for
    a version 9.

This Discussion Group has taken a decidedly good turn in the last week or so
thanks in part to the active participation by Greig Jones of Autodesk Product
Support. I want to say thanks to Grieg as well as to all the other participants
who have been unselfish in helping their fellow users.

    Merry Christmas!
