AutoCad for Mac VS. AutoCad 2012

I have recently bought a MacBook Air and i downloaded the software AutoCad for Mac.  It downloaded just fine, but in school we use AutoCad 2012 installed on windows.  Between the two they seem very different.  I plan to partition my MacBook so that I can run on Windows for some other programs I need to download, I would like to know for those of you that have ran these two programs, which one is better?  I have not yet partitioned the flash drive and I was waiting to do so until I know if I should uninstall AutoCad for Mac, partition additional space on the flash drive, and then download AutoCad 2012 for windows.  Which one is better, or is there that much of a difference?  For those of you that have experienced both which would you recommend?

For my needs, I prefer AutoCAD for Mac. I am biased though because I dislike Windows.

There are many features still not implemented in the Mac version though so consider what you need first.

It would be better to run AutoCAD for the Mac on your mac than use bootcamp or parallels to run ACAD for Windows on the Mac.

You are correct the progams look different, but most of the same functionality is in both programs--it will just take a little getting use to.  IF you are having problems trying to find a specific command, try the help spotlight option on the AutoCAD help menu--it will show you where you find specific commands.  The drawings should be completely compatible from PC to Mac as well.

If you can get to this link, this is a great video introducing you to the Mac version:  http://au.autodesk.com/?nd=class&session_id=9436  This video is a virtual class that was given for Autodesk University last year so you will need to make an account if you do not have one to get into the site to see the video--it is called A Crash course in AutoCAD for the Mac.

Additionally, you can go to this site: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=15833488&linkID=15839490  to see what is different between the two products.

    Hope this helps,

Refering to your comment, could you please tell me what is going wrong with autocad2013 for my MacBook Pro and each time i start working, it collapses? While drawing, it suddenly shuts down. With indeed small files. A message of Sending Report to Autodesk appears as well.

And I stay there wondering why I ve payed such an expensive laptop when it doesn't let me to nothing more than recovering files.

Your answear would really help me!

If AutoCAD keeps crashing like that I would first try trashing your preference file.
It could also be something in your drawing template. Have you changed any settings or are you using AutoCADs DWT?
You mentioned it crashes when you start drawing. Are you just using AutoCAD commands or customized LSP commands? It could be a bad lisp reference. Just a thought.
    After that, try a re-install.
