autocad lt 2013 on mac - turn off viewport frame?

i'm trying to turn off the visibility of the viewport frame so that it does not plot

from the layout tab view with paper space engaged, i've tried:

- turning the layer off

- freezing the layer

- viewport freezing the layer

- changing the layer to no-plot

- all of the above in various combinations

what am i missing?

i'm pretty sure someone can help me realize what a simpleton i am  🙂

thanks up front!

if it matters, i'm using a polyline frame, not the standard rectangle mview defaults to

figured it out

i created a polyline that somehow retains its layer characteristic at the moment i used it as an object to create the viewport

even though i changed its layer via the property manger and it appeared to take the change, it didn't really

i was frustrated because the viewport pretended to be on the right layer when checking it in the properties manager, but somehow retained its original layer designation

so, to fix

set the polyline to the viewport layer first

mview

object

click on the shape

now it should operate as expected

YMMV 🙂
