Hi,
Does anybody know how to add .shx fonts to AutoCad 2012 on OS 10.7 (Lion)?
I need to install some custom fonts and I've tried to right click the app but I don't get the "show package content" line
Thanks,
Hagay

Hi Hagay,
look attentively, please:

Does anybody know why AutoCad 2012 for Mac does not allow any "light" fonts to be selected? I'm able choose any of the standard fonts but only in standard, bold ot italic. Not "light." I like to use Gil Sans light as my stadard text in autocad drawings and there is no option to select this. Same with helvetica, Times Roman, etc.
Hi,
The files you are mentioned in your post are .TTC font files. And AutoCAD on Mac doesn't support TTC font files fully, it can read only information about standard font families in such files (Regular, Italic, Bold and Bold Italic).
The only way to use additional font family in AutoCAD (such as Light) is to split TTC file into separate TTF fonts (one font for one family).
You can try this application:

Thank you for the advice, Maxim
I downlaoded the program and split (I think) the GillSans.ttc file. I stiil do not see Gill Sans light in AutoCad's text style editor. Is there another step rquired to get autocad to see the new font?
Hi there,
I am having the same issue, tried to add a .TTF font to Autocad 2013 on Mac Os 10.8.3. Unfortunately I can access the folder with the TTF files.
Is there another way to do this?
Thanks, UL1
Hi UL1,
Have you tried to add TTF font to ~/Library/Fonts folder (I mean /Library/Fonts folder inside your home folder)?
After adding fonts you have to restart AutoCAD.
BTW - some fonts, that have such preview in Finder:
won't work (and show) in AutoCAD for Mac. They are mostly OLD fonts (from 1994 - 1997)
Maxim
That did the trick, all working perfectly fine now!
Three of us were trying to solve it but none of us came up with the most obvious solution, restart!
Thanks for reminding us, Ul1
Hi maxim_k,
I'm new to Mac...
I've split the GillSans.ttc file into .ttf files in order for AutoCad LT to recognize GillSans light. I've restarted AutoCad LT, yet it still doesn't recognize GillSans light. Is there something obvious that I'm missing?
Thank you.
Will these fonts work for AutoCAD 2014 Mac? If so what is the file path? Its never easy to figure out where the autocad fonts are...
Sorry maxim, I'm not getting it...this is the path I see in my finder, and when I click on the autocad 2014 app it just opens the program. What am I missing?
