Missing toolbars en pallets

Hello,

I have installed AutoCAD 2013 for Mac on a MacBook Pro Retina with Mountain Lion. But when I open AutoCAD, my toolbar and pallets are missing. I tried all ways on this site with no success. Does anybody know how to fix this problem ?

Hi,

I want to ask just for the sake of interest:

Have you tried to create new user account on your Mac and start AutoCAD in it? Does Tool Sets and Palettes still missing?

Maxim

Hey Maxim! Thanks for your reaction, but still nog effect 😞 Maybe it has something to do with my Macbook. It's a Retina. My brother and a friend of my have a normal Macbook Pro and they doens't have those problems.

OK, you will not loose anything. Try to remove AutoCAD via Remove AutoCAD application (don't forget to un-check "Leave application prefs" in uninstall dialog.)
Then create account with administrative privileges (if you didn't do this in previous attempt) and try install AutoCAD from this new account.

BTW: I think that Retina not guilty.

Okay! I will try! I have tried to make an account, but AutoCAD was already installed on my macbook. I shall uninstall AutoCAD and follow your steps. Let's hope for the best! Thanks

Just curious.

Do you see the 3 toolbar types when you click the arrow at the top of the toolbar?

If you go to the menu bar and click Tools - Customize - Interface (CUI) and go to the Tool Sets tab, does it list the commands and Tools Sets as normal (see below) ?Screen Shot 2013-04-26 at 3.06.31 PM.png

No 😞 They are empty

Both or just the drop down? I apologize I didn't catch that the menu bars were not showing up either. Were you able to get to the CUI window by typing in CUI in the command prompt?

Also, if you type "preferences" in the command prompt, go to Application on the left, then expand Support File Search Path and Customization Files / Main Customization Files do they look similar to mine (below)

If not, try using the gear at the bottom of the page and mapping yours to the same path as the image above, restart AutoCAD and see if anything changes.

And what happens if you try to add menu items and ToolSets items in CUI dialog? Are you able to see added customization (Menu items and buttons on Tool Sets palette)?

Hmm. Can you post a screen cap of the cui / tool sets tab as well?

If you navigate to the folder it specifies in the /Applications/Autodesk/AutoCAD 2013.app/Contents/Resources/Support folder (you may have to right click on the AutoCAD 2013.app file, then choose "Show Package Contents") is it full of icons and image files?

Also, can you restart the program, press F2 on the keyboard (or FN+F2 depending on your config) to bring up the extended Command Prompt and post a screen shot? I want to see if it is erroring out somewhere.

Last question - Do you have FileVault enabled in Mac OS X (System Preferences - Security & Privacy - FileVault)?

Hi,

and what about my question:

"What happens if you try to add menu items and ToolSets items in CUI dialog? Are you able to see added customization (Menu items and buttons on Tool Sets palette)?"

Definitely it is something wrong with permissions.

Could you check this:

Start Terminal, enter these commands:

cd "Library/Application Support"  <-Hit Return

ls -l <-Hit Return

Find string with Autodesk folder:

drwxrwxr-x  13 max  staff    442 18 апр 22:26 Autodesk

What do you see at the beginning (bold text in my example)?

Maxim
