Hi again,
I have a layer that just won't delete. I have checked all the blocks and lines and the layer is not attached. I know that with Autocad for PC, there is a LAYDEL command that would take care of this...does anyone know if there is one for Mac?
Thanks,
Trang
Hi,
Yes, there is no such command (LAYDEL) in AC for Mac, but it has another feature:
you can drag-off the Layer name from the Layer palette and if the layer is empty - than it deletes automatically.
If the Layer has objects on it - you have a choice:
If you have block definitions with objects on Layer you want to delete even you don't have insertions of this block in drawing, you will get this:
About your case - you can get the last message from AutoCAD if there was some dimensions on Layer that you want to delete, then you deleted these dimensions and did not PURGEd blocks (the dimensions are Unnamed blocks, which you can purge after you delete dimensions by PURGE command or by close- open drawing)
Also check that you don't have nested blocks with layers you want to delete from drawing.

Hi Maxim,
I get the second error message, but have checked all my block, dimensions and tried purging. The message still comes up. Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Trang
If you have a block definition, that contains another block inside it, and the layer you want to delete is inside this second block.
Have you tried to -WBLOCK your drawing with * option? This will create a DWG file on disk, that contains information used in original drawing, all unused (including layers should be purged)
