Importing data from excel

Hello,

I need to learn how to import data from Excel into Autocad, such as gps coordinates which I have already converted to x y coordinates. I have not been able to find anyone who knows how to do this. I am simply trying to draw the map of these coordinates in Autocad.

Thanks

Hi,

You can try this:

http://cadtips.cadalyst.com/3d-operations/import-3d-points-excel

It should work in AutoCAD for Mac.

It creates 3D polyline from comma-delimited text file (which you can create in Excel), but if you need only points it is possible to fine-tune lisp file.

That did not work. Using CAD with a mac is different in the way the files are formatted.

Could you share your Excel file with some instructions about what you want to get in AutoCAD from this file?

Sure these are the x y points that I converted from gps coordinates. I may just be doing something wrong, but I am not by any means an expert in CAD, I just know this ought to be able to be done somehow.
