ECW image in autocad 2012 for mac

How can I insert ECW raster image in autocad for mac? I have tried with both mapiinsert command (that doesn't exist in acad4mac) and reference manager without no luck. With previous releases for Windows I installed raster designer object enabler, but now I don't know how to do.

ECW image files are not currently supported in AutoCAD for Mac. Do you use this image type often?

Yes often, we use ecw images in civil engineering every day, we are trying Autocad for mac to evaluate the convenience of migrate to Mac platform.

Now we are playing with ecw - jpg / tif conversion using winebottler bundle + irfanview + ecw plugin. We can obtain a jpg image and insert it in autocad for mac, of course losing all geographical data.
