Dimension Style Manager

I just downloaded and installed AutoCad 2013 for MAC. I've yet to sucessfully use the program because everytime I open the 'Dimension Style Manager' to adjust dimension standards (switch from Decimal to Architecture) and then 'close' the manager it crashes the program EVERY TIME - even if I don't change anything, it crashes. Is there a bug in the 2013 version I need to download a fix for or something? Incredibly frustrated as I cannot send out drawings with decimal dimensions and no other MAC software is available for download. Suggestions?

Thanks!

Is that you Goose?
(sorry, top gun is the first 'maverick' reference that comes to mind...don't know how it pertains to AutoCad...)

Maverick, latest MAC OS: currently not supported with 2013 until the beta patch becomes official sometime this year.

Try posting in the MAC forum after a search to see if your issue is known already: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-for-Mac/bd-p/520

Same issue here - Maverik doesn't work with the 2013 version 100% yet. Bogdan

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Bogdan,

AutoCAD 2013 is not compatible with OS X 10.9 at the moment. You have to wait for SP2, or try to download Beta version of SP2 for AC 2013 for Mac:

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

Are you sure about Mac OS version you provided here? It could not be 11.4, if you have the latest OS, it should be 10.9.1. If so, than you can not use AC 2012 for Mac on it, because it is incompatible.
On 10.9.1 you can only use AC 2013 with SP2, or AC 2014 for Mac.

I do have 10.9.1.  I apoligize.  Is the dimension style manager the only part incompatible?  b/c i can draw all day without any problems until I open dimension style manager, and then it freezes?  Is it possible to go back to an older software version?  b/c I have never had this problem before? or is my only option to get AC 2013 or2014? Thanks for the help.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,
Which AutoCAD version do you have now?
Only AC 2013 with SP2 and AC 2014 are compatible with Mavericks,

Again, thanks for the help. I have what I think is the maverick os X version 10.9.1 And I am using AC 2012, it is a student version. I have had AC 2012 for mac for a couple years, first with mountain lion?? and i switched to Maverick when it was released and have not had any issues with the program or the dimension manager until recently. I noticed it freezing up last week for the first time. The reference SP2 I am not familiar with. Thanks for the help and information. I appreciate your time and patience.

Hi Jake,
>>>>The reference SP2 I am not familiar with
I meant AutoCAD 2013 for Mac with Service Pack 2 (SP2) applied.

I have the same problem with the Dimension Style Manager, but still you can change the properties of the Dimension Styles thourgh the Properties Inspector, it will give you all the options the Style Manager does but you cannot create or modify the styles, hope it'll help you while the problem gets fixed.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Which version of AutoCAD do you have? And which OS?
If you are using your Mac under Mavericks, than:
- AC 2012 is not compatible with this OS,
- to use AC 2013 you need to update it with SP2
- AC 2014 should run under Mavericks OTB

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

You need to ensure you installed all Service Packs, because AutoCAD 2013 is comparable with Yosemite only with SP 3 installed.

If you never updated AutoCAD on your Mac, than I'd suggest you to Remove existing autoCAD installation from your Mac with "Remove AutoCAD.app", than download new installer which have all SP integrated in it from here:

http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-for-mac/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autocad-2013-...

And install AutoCAD again using this installer.

HI,

I am having the same problem, but I have El Capitan version 10.11.3.

But this is a new issue, I was using cad perfectly fine, no problems and then all the sudden today it started freezing up and not the program crashed everytime I try to "modify" the Standard dim style.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

Does this happens in all drawings? Even if you are trying to modify Standard dim style in newly created DWG?
If yes, than you may try to Reset AutoCAD from Application tab of AutoCAD Preferences.

Hi Maxim,

I gave it a shot but it didn't work. It's still locking up and freezing whenever I go to close out the dimension style manager box.

Thank you so much for your help!

Hi,

Which AutoCAD version do you have?
If it is 2013, than it is not compatible with El Capitan.
