Hi Lauran,

At first, could you provide some information about your hardware and software (already have seen your post in AutoCAD forum: "I have a macbook pro next generation, with Snow Leapord 10.6 installed."), but this is not enough:

- Macbook Pro specifications: which model? how much RAM?

- what version of AutoCAD do you use?

- how complex are 3D drawings? Does they includes only 3D objects or 2D too?

- does AutoCAD crashes at specific situations or this happens randomly?

Hi Maxim,

First of all thank you very much for taking the time to help. Not sure how to go about finding the specs you required, but i've copied and pasted some which seem useful, under 'About this Mac';

Hardware Overview:

  Model Name:MacBook Pro

  Model Identifier:MacBookPro7,1

  Processor Name:Intel Core 2 Duo

  Processor Speed:2.4 GHz

  Number Of Processors:1

  Total Number Of Cores:2

  L2 Cache:3 MB

  Memory:4 GB

  Bus Speed:1.07 GHz

  Boot ROM Version:MBP71.0039.B0B

  SMC Version (system):1.62f6

  Serial Number (system):W8025N6YATM

  Hardware UUID:48AE153F-4F23-5AA2-8C3A-82B60F42B5AD

  Sudden Motion Sensor:

  State:Enabled

As for the Autocad version, I cant see any specifics on which year i'm using, but I downloaded the student edition in 2011. The product version is E.49.H.62, Does that help?

It works great when drafting in 2d, but 3d in general is slow and always crashes when using the Presspull command.

Thanks again,

Lauran

Hi Lauran,

As I see, you are using initial version of AutoCAD 2011 for Mac.

First, you need to install all 3 updates (service packs) from here:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/index?siteID=123112&id=2334435&linkID=15839491#section3

in order to have more stable version of AC 2011. You have to apply Updates in ascending order (SP1, SP2 ..)

Have to say also, that if you have an opportunity you should get 2013 version of AutoCAD for Mac, as it is more stable release.

About Presspull command. Yes, it is one of the "heaviest" commands in AutoCAD and as you are using AutoCAD on Mac with Core 2 Duo processor, you should have difficulties with it, especially in AC 2011. In AC 2013 for Mac Presspull command has been changed and is working more smoothly.
