Hi Marcela,
AutoCAD 2011 for Mac is not compartible with Mac OS 10.9 (Mavericks), so you can not use it on your Mac.
You can use on Mavericks only AutoCAD 2013 (with SP2 applied just after you install application) and AutoCAD 2014 (out of the box - but I'd recommend you install SP1 and SP2 for it just after installation).
The best choice is AC 2014.
If you have troubles with starting AC 2014 on your Mac (not sure which version you have tried), than you may need to reset AutoCAD settings as described here:

Hi Maxim,
Problem solved!
I did all the process you'd recommended me and it worked as well (I installed the AC 2014 and the SP1 and SP2 after the installation).
Thank you!!
Hi Maxim,
I, too, have the same problem as Marcaela and use the student version, but I use
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (not Mavericks). I tried downloading 2014 initially, but there was an error as the software wasn't compatible with Lion. Can you help?
Thank you!
M.
