AutoCAD crashes when I open a DWG drawing

Hello,

I am currently using AutoCAD 2014 student version on my macbook Pro.

When I start my .DWG drawing, it says immediately ''Do you really want to do this'' (See screenshot)

After showing that message, my AutoCAD is not responding to everything.. I need to use the Force Quit feature of OS X to close AutoCAD.

Every time I open this .DWG file my AutoCAD crashes.. It's really annoying.

I hope someone can help me with this problem.

Is it doing this only in that drawing or any drawing? When it asks you "do you really want to do this" Type in Y <enter>

HI, I can see that some AutoLISP routine loaded (with name "xr-gbkn") when you open each DWG file in AutoCAD.
Do you know what for?
You have to check are there acad.lsp file somewhere on Support Files Search path (or in the same folder where DWG file you are trying to open) exists. If you will find it - trash this file (or move out of AutoCAD's "eyes")
You may also check contents of Startup Suite in Load Application dialog.

Hello,

When the message is showing, I can't do anything.

AutoCAD simply not responding.

So I can not enter commands or the "Y'.

Anyway thanks for your help

Hello,

I have this problem only in one .DWG drawing.

The "xr-gbkn" is a xref file I've loaded into my drawing.

I searched through the Support Files Search path but there wat no ''acad.lsp'' file.

Only ''acad2014.lsp'' and ''acad2014doc.lsp'' (Screenshot 1)

Also there was no ''acad.lsp'' file in the same folder where the DWG file are.

There are no files in the contents of Startup Suite in Load Application dialog. (Screenshot 2)

Do you have other solutions

Thanks for responding

Have you moved the file that you have xrefed in the drawing? Or move the source drawing to a different location?

OK do you have the latest service packs installed for your AutoCAD?

I think, I know the roots of the problem.
"If you use associative hatches and hatch to xrefs
you will get the "Do you really want to do this".
So it appears, that there are associative hatches, which have boundaries from Xreferenced file in the drawing you are trying to open.
When you are trying to open such file? AutoCAD trying to recreate associativity of Hatch objects, but failed to do so and crashes.
You need to move your "master" file to another place in order AutoCAD wouldn't be able to find Xrefs. Open this file from that another location and delete all hatches relaid on Xrefs boundaries (or make them non- associative).
Than you can put your "master DWG back and open it again with Xrefs loaded.

If this will help< all kudos here:
