AutoCAD 2013 for mac (studentversion) keeps crashing randomly

Hi there,

i am so frustrated - my CAD keeps on crashing - there deosnt seem to be a specific pattern; it happens when i reformat text styles, dimension styles, click on the viewport to see the layouts and more... I am working off a 15inch retina... I dont have any adobe programs open or running, only on safari and itunes, app store and preview.

Please can someone tell me what the problem is and how i can fix it!!

Thanks,

Jess

Hi Jess,

What kind of files you work with (size, 2D/3D)?

How much RAM do you have on your Mac?

HI,

Which OS do you have on your Mac?
If it is OS X 10.9 (Mavericks), than AutoCAD 2013 is not compatible with this OS at the moment. You have to wait for SP2, or try to download Beta version of SP2 for AC 2013 for Mac:

Im having the same problem, random crashes after I zoom in and zoom out repeatedly, or when I do the undo or redo command, or when I turn on or off a layer, but not always. Still it keeps happening every 20-30 min. I've lost my work so many times, I'm desperate and dont know what to do. PLEASE HELP.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

It is rather old topic. There was a lot of changes since 2013 year.
Do you have AutoCAD 2013? What OS X installed on your Mac? If you are on Yosemite or lower - have you installed all updates to AutoCAD 2013?
If you are on El Capitan, than AutoCAD 2013 is not compatible with this OS.
