.Net API for ASD

Hello Guys,

Does AutoCAD Structural Detailing (ASD) have .Net API for customization.

Even if not .Net any otherAPI also will do.

Thank You

I haven't been able to find any info on ASD API.

Dear Santosh,

There is no officially supportted API for ASD. You may be able to do something using the AutoCAD API, which ASD is build on top. But such an usage is probably limitted. Sorry for not being helpful on this.

Hi Mikako.harada,

I got to know that there was API for AutoCAD Structural Detailing 2011 and it was enhanced in the later versions.

Please find the enclosed PDF which shows that there was API in lower version and then enhanced in later versions.

Kindly try to help me in this.

The reason for the API in need for me is i have to create new connection and add it to the database. Which is not possible. I can modify the existing connection and save it. BUT I CANNOT CREATE NEW CONNECTION. I need to check if the API allows me to create connection and save it into the ASD database

Dear Santosh,

What I said earlier is the latest and still valid today; ASD API is not officially supported by ADN or the product team.

The document you pointed out must be coming from the marketing team.   Looks like somebody who did not know the technical deatil or meaning of Open API preared it.  ASD API was never open and was never supported by ADN.

I hope this clarifies.

Regards,
