Inserting nodes to workframe members

Under Workframe there is a tab "Elements", which has 4 small tabs to add nodes, delete node, add line and delete lines.

The manual does little to show how to use these tabs to add nodes lines to a workframe. Can someone explain how to insert nodes

to a workframe wire?  This tab is very hard to figure out the steps to insert nodes.I am a beginner and I'm stuck.
