Creating a workframe model with lines

I have a heavy background in AutoCAd and need to model a fairly complex (non-orthogonal) steel frame using ASD. I would prefer to draw the frame in ASD using lines and then create the workframe around this. Is this possible?

Alternatively, can i draft the stick diagram of the frame in AutoCAD and then import into ASD?

Yes you can insert the members via: Insert by 2 points / Insert by line / Insert by point

A workframe isn't required, its just a tool to make things a bit easier

Draw framework with lines and just delete them afterwords
