Fatal Error Message

Hello,
I keep recieving an error message when digitizing log roads with a polyline over an aerial ortho image in .bil GeoSPOT format. Does this image format cause problems in Raster Design 2004? Does anyone know how the problem could be solved? The message is as follows:

AutoCAD Error Aborting

FATAL ERROR:

Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0034 Exception at 77f83147h

I am not getting much done because of the error is always shutting me down.

Thanks for any help people!

Would you post some additional info?

Such as:

What command are you using, specifically, when this
occurs?

Are you removing (erasing) the raster under the
followed vectors?

Does the error occur at the end of the command,
when exiting, or during the command while following?

Does the error occur in one specific area of the
image or anywhere in the image?

Is the image particuliarly "dirty" with speckles
for dirt on the scan or lines that are extremly thin?

Diagnosing this sort of problem is extremely
difficult with out knowing a good deal of the details.

Thanks

Jeff

If you are doing a lot of panning while following the road it
might be a video problem. Check to see if there are updated drivers for your
card.

Thanks Allen and Jeff for responding.

I was in the polyline command when I recieved the fatal error. Yes I was panning while in the command. I have to pan because I have to zoom in to the .bil image enough to see the logging road. I am digitizing with a polyline over ortho GeoSPOT(.bil) image to create a forest management plan for our municipal watershed.

I corrected the problem by saving the images as .tiff images and working with them. The tiffs do not give me any problems, so maybe Allen my video card is OK? I'm alright now, I guess it is just up to you guys to debug the .bil problem, if it is not my video card causing it.

Thanks alot!

Your welcome. I usually through in this suggestion because
while still on NT4.0 I had problems that ranged all the way to Blue Screens of
Death. Everything was tried including replacing the Video card and the Mother
board. Nothing helped until I found the right drivers. Then all was fine. It's
just not something that immediately pops into ones mind when everything goes to
heck. But many problems are based in driver conflicts.

Hopes all goes well for you
