Rick,
This is how I go about this:
1. Create a folder in the C drive to store later on the .arg file
(profile).
2. Include that folder in the Search Path list. Make sure that this folder
is the first place where AutoCAD is going to find an .arg file. If
necessary, use the "move up" button, to give priority to this folder over
other folders.
3. Set up this user's profile. It might include some of all of the
following steps:
3a. Settings in the Files Tab (Folders)
3b. Preference about arrangement of toolbars and menus on the screen,
including custom menus and toolbars.
3c. Settings about performance (i.e. "enabled with copy")
3n. Any other setting in the Preferences dialog box (i.e. "cursorsize")
4. Once all this is done, go to the "Profiles" tab, and use "Export". Save
this profile in the folder that you created in step # 1.
5. Click on "Apply" and close.
Next time this person opens another drawing file, AutoCAD will read the
first .arg file found in the Search path list, and will execute it. It
should work also when the users open another session, by opening another
file, or by using commands that lunch other session, like "Edit Xref".
