Exploding ArcText does not explode correctly

... Or at least the ArcText doesn't explode as expected.

When we use the bonus tool (Autocad 14.01) ArcText to align text around an
arc)
and then explode the text, the text is backwards sometimes.

If I have an arc that bows up (the midpoint of the arc is above the 2 end
points)
and I add ArcText to the outside (top) of the arc, then explode the text,
the text
reads fine.
D E
C F
here the arc is below
B G
the text
A H

If I have an arc that bows down (the midpoint of the arc is below the 2 end
points)
and add ArcText to the outside (bottom) of the arc, then explode, the text
stays on
the outside, but its backwards.

A
H
This is what B
G here the arc is
it looks like ----------> C F
above the text
before exploding D E

After exploding, the text is still under the arc, but the letters are are
upside down.
To fix, we have to either mirror each letter along a line that is tangent to
the arc
at the text insertion of each letter, or mirror all the text at once (which
will make
the text bow up (like it does in the top example) and move each letter down
so that the text bows down.

Is there any way around this, so we don't have to adjust each letter to get
the
desired effect? What am I missing here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I guess my questions would be, why don't you use ARCTEXT to edit the text?
What are the end results that you are trying to achieve?

We need to put the text into ESRI's ArcView. ArcView doesn't accept
ArcText -- only Text. We have several Acad drawings that have used ArcText
for presentations to clients. Since the drawings have already been drawn,
it would be nice to NOT to have to redo all the text in ArcView which would
add hours or days to the task.

So, I ask again, is there a way to explode the ArcText so the individual
letters
will remain in the exact position as they do before they are exploded?

Thank you

I have the same problem.

I want to explode arctext because I need to realign the text spacing around the center of the arc since autocad mucks it up and I want the spacing perfect for laser engraving onto wood.

I have the same problem as well.

In my case, I am trying to convert the .DWG file (including ArcText) into the Gerber file format (.GBR). The AutoCAD plugin I am using is called EasyGerb, and it reports an error with only the ArcText in my .DWG file. It converts the rest of the file as expected, but the ArcText is simply absent from the converted .GBR file. Thus, I believe I must explode the ArcText before conversion in order for it to convert properly.

Any ideas? One would hope that after 11 years, this issue would have been addressed...
