Stub-end for lap flange

I'm having an issue placing a stub-end for a lap flange in my project drawings. I keep getting an error:
"Pipeing is unable to be connected.
Cant' create part record in the project database"
I'm using the standard, out-of-the-box stub-in for lap flange. I tried this on two separate projects and had the same error message.

are there any backing rings available in your spec?
You can do it your own way,
If its done just how I say!

Also have you done a Plant audit on the project, right click on the project in the project manager and you'll see the Audit command.

Hi,
As far as I can tell, the stub end forms part of the fastener for the lap flange and cannot be placed on its own just like a boltset or a gasket. The option to Insert in Model is disabled in the SpecViewer for me. Have you checked the endcodes and joint Settings?
Regards,
Andy

Jason,
stubends are fasteners. You insert the flange which then will insert the stubend (as well as gasket and bolts). However, this automatism depends on the proper setting of the joint settings in project setup. By default it should work.

It seems there was something wrong with my test project. I created a new project, loaded my test spec and sure enough, when I place a lap flange it automatically adds the stub-end fittings.
I appreciate the replies and assistance from everyone! ![]()
