Service Acquisition on pipe run components

Is there a way to remove "acquisition" on selecting a service? I do not want to have to override the lines all the time.  I went into the project properties and went to <Plant 3D DWG Settings> down to <Pipe Run Component> and turned off <Acquisition> in the <Default Value> - then it just removed the Service field on the pipe runs.  So then I removed the Acquisition rule, and it still still does not fix the problem..

I overrode the line colours to match what I want them to be and tied them to simple service types which I use.

RS for recirc supply water - blue colour

RR for recirc return water - red colour

    etc etc

For my industry, this works great.. I don't care about having different colours for nominal sizes.

I just want to easily change the service. Is there anyway to set this up? or a better way perhaps?

Easiest way I found to change the service is through the Data manager.  In 2013, there is an drop down at the bottom right to switch between object type and order by Area. When you choose Area, there will be a lines node, which represents the Pipe Line Groups.  With that level selected, you can select the service for the entire pipeline group.

I assume you are using the layer automation from project setup?

Yeah I found it, opened the line number and <service> is greyed out and locked.

so I exported the data, unlocked the worksheet then changed the service

relocked the worksheet and saved it.

Imported the modified worksheet and nothing happened.

I must be doing something wrong.

Can you post a screenshot of the view of your data manager?

    HI,

If you select "Pipe Lines" from the list you can Export the active node, make the changes to the Service and then import those changes.

Note the Service field is not grayed out in this view:

It is also possible to make changes directly in the Data Manager.

    Thanks,

    Dan

    I see!

I went one lvl too deep into the pipe lines.

    Thanks.
