Valve Tags change?

doing a p&id i have 5 steam trains, made on copied selection for the other 4 went in and re-numbered the valves for each to be unique. Everything was great. Saved closed and re-opend. All the tag numbers stayed unique but now there are question marks after the valve #, like they are not unique. I double click on them open the dialog box click ok and the question mark goes away... Until I save close and reopen, then they are back... what am i doing  wrong?

Have you closed out of all the drawings and run an Audit? If other users are accessing the project have them exit out of the project as well before you run the audit.

Did the Audit help to resolve the issue you were having?

No the audit didn't find anything wrong with the drawing. I had to go into assign tag and change the name of the tag, instead of just double clicking on the tag, and changing the name in the dialog box. I didn't know that changing the name in the dialog box did not re-assign the name. by doing it in assign it takes acouple of extra steps, they should change this so that it will work either way.

I got the problem resolved. I didn't know you had to select the valve go-to assign tag and make the change there. I thought you should just be able to double click on the tag and change the contents of the txt box and it would update all the way through all of the data bases etc. That would make since, and it is a couple of steps shorter, but.... It doesn't work that way. Aaron Shaeffer Director International Field Operations H3 Life Science Corp.
