Hi !
I have problem ( one of a lot !!!)
There is a pipe and an elbow at it's end. (pic1)
Next step, I select continution part of elbow to add a vertical pipe to it,now it is possible to specify vertical lenght(pic2),but i need dimension from center of elbow, so I enter "co" for "base component" and point to elbow, now it isnot possible to specify vertical dimension .(pic3),so what should I do ?
thanks in advace !!!!!!
This may seem like a non-answer, but just delete the elbow and route from the horizontal pipe end. it automatically uses the dimension you need. I find it easier to just delete parts and reroute than to try switches to get it to route. see image.
Thanks,It'll work !. but in a project with 100,000 dia-inch it's realy boring and not smart ! a basicaly solution needed .
this too occurs when i add a component with 2 port in vertical position(for example valves) , when i fixed the first port , it wont be possible to specify lenght of point connected to second port.(see the pic)
Not sure how you are routing. If you are placing each item one at a time as you route, you are probably going to be aggrevated with the software. In other words if you are doing this... place flange, place pipe, place elblow, place pipe.... I recommend you not do that. Run the line start to finish and then place inline assets after. Or you can use the "F" to place a fitting as you route. I always route the line and place inline assets after. All the locating dimensions I need are there.
