Socket and spicket pipe

Hi, I am for the first time creating a spec in plant, can I have some help to create or treat a pipe catalog for a socket and spicket end piping for varying lengths.

Is there a online catalog of the parts you require?

Hi Tom,

That's the thing I have not been able to find any catalog that contains any Socket-Socket pipes or Socket-Spigot piping,

hence I have to try creating. That's when I get out of my depth, need a tutorial or demo of how its achieved.

Been looking at options - pipe-MJ but does not look like a tyco socket?

                                     or pipe-SW.FPT closer
and for both just have the end L2 value set to -2 (no socket/flange)

On a separate issue is that the flanges on my pipes do not appear, any comments?

You can ultimately create your own end conditions, and not need to use the ones with the software. When you create a new part, you can type in a new end condition in the Specs editor. You just have to make sure you add it to Plant3D also, by typing in PLANTENDCODES within the software, on each computer.

Its just a matter of finding the right part initially, to make it what you want it to look like graphically.

Any simple way of updating all of my installations of Plant3D with new PlantEndCodes? And i'm also guessing every year when we upgrade to a new version I'll have to update every computer again?

Do you really need to create a new end point for your Components/catalog? Actually if your project requires that connections in you piping must behave as you need it, maybe you can modify the existing end, then modify the simple joint config to suit your "standard". Or else, just use default connections that suites your need and just change the description fo the components in the catalog.
