Route Pipe becomes "unassigned"

I try to add in a pipe with the line tag "2002"

the moment I draw in the pipe line it detags and becomes "unassigned"

I have been through the data manager (current drawing and project ) line by line, there is NO 2002 tags anywhere.

tried auditing the project, no errors.

2001 and 2003 work fine.

most likely ( as normal for me ) I will write this up and then find the answer... (edit as happed the previous 3 times I wrote on the forum - but not this time.. nothing is comming to me 8(

Any Ideas?

Is it resetting from what you have selected on the ribbon bar from the Part Insertion panel?

I opened the “Data Manager” and exported the “Pipe Lines” to excel. I changed the Tag for the line from “unassigned” to “2002” then imported it. I get the error “The tag value cannot be accepted because it is not unique.”

I have the “Data Manager” open and I have it on “Plant 3D Project Data” and expand all.

Looking at “Pipe Lines” there is no 2002 tag, and the project only has piping in one file.

Tried some troubleshooting…

I started a new project, copied the files into it and then added them to the new project.  Same thing happening.

I started a new project, tried adding the line 2002 – same issue ( I used my template )

I started a new project, tried adding the line 2002 – it worked ( did not use any  project templates )

I opened my project template – tried adding 2002 – same issue.  Then I tried “audit project” and I get

“Exception of type ‘Autodesk.ProcessPower.DataLinks.DLException’ was thrown.”

“The project must be closed by all other users in order to perform this operation.

The project is currently open by another user. Please try again later.”

I am the only user.

I started a new project, NO project template and copied the file into it and it seems to work.

So it looks like my template was corrupted going to 2013 of course.

John.

Hi,

This problem I have experienced a few times in versions 2011 & 2012 - the get around I using was to put a full stop at the the end of the line no (ie 1243.), so I can continue within the drg. As it is just a dot its not noticeable within the auto generated line numbering. However a permanent solution would be nice.

Regards

Gary

I'm getting the same error in P&ID 2012 when I'm trying to Audit the project. I also have lost all ability to administer the software as I keep getting the message the project is currently open when I am clearly the only person in there.

“Exception of type ‘Autodesk.ProcessPower.DataLinks.DLException’ was thrown.”

“The project must be closed by all other users in order to perform this operation.

The project is currently open by another user. Please try again later.”

JohnHolder did you ever solve this issue, where you ever able to audit the project again?

It seems like my template file was corrupted - that made it so I could not audit the project.
