Reducers in the GF cpak

I admit to being a little new on specs, but here we go.  I am trying to create a SCH80CPVC spec from the GF cpak.  I found Reducing Coupling but not a component specifcally called Reducer.  I thought to myself that the Reducing Coupling would be the same thing, but I cannot get it to add the Reducing Coupling to a piperun when I change the size of the pipe, nor will it show up as defined in my Branch Legend when I need a tee to a different size.  So, am I missing some setting in my spec, or is it just that it is a coupling and won't do what I want.  I can place the coupling on the end of a pipe and continue on from there, but I wanted something more automatic.

Can you please verify the GF content pack spec you are using. Are you using the Georg Fisher PVC, CPVC, Sch40 PVC & Sch80 CPVC Content Pack listed under Europe, Middle East, and Africa? Also, what version on Plant 3D are you using?

I am working with:

Georg Fischer PVC, CPVC, Sch40 PVC & Sch80 CPVC Content Pack

specifically because it said it was for Europe and North America.

I am building a Sch80 CPVC spec... or trying anyway.  Currently building the spec for P3D2012, and it will be upgraded to 2013 or 2014 when the client makes the jump.

You are correct in what you are trying to do. However, you have to refer to the sizes that have been setup for the reducing coupling. In the Spec Editor open the Catalog for GF Schedule 80 PVC Pipes and Fittings. Once it is open click on the Catalog Editor tab at the upper right of the screen. Then in the Catalog Browser select the 3/4"-12" Reducing Coupling, 9829, PSW, GF. Once you select it in the Piping Component Editor select the Sizes tab in the left corner of the window. This will show you the sizes that have been setup to use for this particular Reducing Coupling. So, if you are running a 4" pipe, the reducing coupling will only branch off to 4"x2" and 4"x3". I hope this clears this up for you.
