Plant dwg loose all intelligence! BIG problem

Hello,

This morning I opend my drawing and all equipment is changed into Pipe Inline Asset.
Move, copy selection, array, mirror does not work anymore!
Even when I make a new pipe route the commands still not work.
In the same project other dwg files still work fine.
Is there a way to repair my drawing?

already tried recover,audit

don't know what to do now

I hope someone can help me soon.

Arjan,

Try something for me. Make a copy of the drawing that went bad. Create a new
empty project. Add the new copy of the bad drawing into this new project. Is
it still having problems?

Hi Greetz,

Can you also try the PLANTAUDIT command?

Thanks,

Change your drawing.bak file into a drawing.dwg file (rename first the original drawing!)

(Can't you find an older version of your drawing, back-up file)

Arjan:

Can you post your project to our secure FTP site? If you post your project, we can take a further look at the actual situation.

Please contact me at eileen.foran@autodesk.com and I'll send you the FTP instructions.

I found a situation that can trigger this and am working towards a solution
to the issue. Once encountered in the field there is no quick fix other than
to create a new drawing and copy/paste all the objects over.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

When I'm trying to do copy/past the program stop working every time.
In the drawing there are +-20000 items maybe that is the problem?

Actually, a better method would be to WBLOCK the entire drawing out.Create a
new project drawing, then INSERT / EXPLODE what you WBLOCK'ed out.
It is a large drawing indeed. Also, if you would like to send me the
drawing, I will try to fix it for you with code I recently wrote.

Thanks,
Jorge

id remember, quite the same thing happen to me during my testing with equipment.
i have created an equipent using equipment convert.
3d objects that i have used was pipes and flanges of AP3D.
without exporting it to a regular autocad solid, i just simply convert it to an equipment and add nozzles to it.
seems evertyhings okey and it works

but when i close the drawing/model, and open it up again, the file doesnt open anymore
and AP3D is saying like null object (something like that, i cant remember it exactly) in the command prompt and then AP3D hung.

i guess that piping components cannot be used directly to convert it into an equipment.

just maybe you have converted a pipes, flanges, olets into an equipment. Edited by: rlpacle on Mar 6, 2010 4:57 PM

Let me know if you have any drawings that give an error to the effect of:

"Aborted network evaluation due to error"

I have a utility that may correct it. We've done a lot of work to avoid this
issue and take corrective action in future versions of the product. We will
continue with improvements.

Thanks,
Jorge

Hello,

I have the VERY SAME PROBLEM and need help URGENTLY. I have these two messages when trying to copy a pipeline:.
Aborted network evaluation due to error: eNotHandled
Aborted network evaluation due to error: eNullPtr

Greetings,

Hi Justin,

Attached are two zip files with a utility I wrote to try and fix this issue.
Depending on whether you are using 32 or 64-bit Plant 3D extract the
approprtate zip file.

*** Please back up your project folder before using it. ***

Steps to correct drawings:

• APPLOAD
o DwgFix.arx (browse to location where unzipped DwgFix.zip)

• For each drawing:

1. Open Drawing
2. FIXDWG
3. RemoveOrphanFasteners
4. FIXDWG

Step 4 is not an error, we have to run it twice to pick up changes made in
previous commands (network evaluation).

Corrections have been made to the next release of the product to avoid these
issues and PLANTAUDIT is enhanced to include the code of this utility.

Let me know if this works for you or not. If you continue having problems,
please send me your DWG so I can investigate further.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Regards,
Jorge

Hello Arjan,

Do you work with window XP, if yes check if the day before an update has been installed (Hotfix for Windows XP (KB976002-v5). That could be the problem.
