Plant 3d through VPN?

Has anyone sucessfully run a Plant 3d project over VPN?

I'm currently working against my clients server through VPN and Plant 3d runs incredible slow. It also crashes atleast one time every hour.

Ping time against the server is 25ms and the read/wright speed to the server harddrive is ~19-20Mbit/s

Could be faster but it's not super slow either.

Any tips or trix to make this work better?

I have done it over VPN but like you said, it's super slow.  There is no way around it as far as I know because it's a function of the VPN and not Plant itself.

If you are able and the only one working on the project, I would copy the entire project to your hard drive, check out a license, and work on it from your hard drive.

Plant 3D is doing alot of reading an writing to its xml files etc. A VPN type should be rather slow... if those things are on the other side??
