Pland 3d - is PVC-U piping and fittings avaliable?

as the subject.  I can't find any information on this.  Does anyone know if it is available anywhere?

Sch 40 is in the program but I need PVC-U aswell.

You can create it in spec editor or use the new program Catalog builder. Remember that in the plastic you need to write in DN box of spec editor - the OD of the real pipe. Because the manufactures of the plastic are used the OD to especificate the pipes and fittings.

How much of a pain is it to input all the spec's for pipe and fittings?  I can't see the pipes themselves to be an issue, but the fittings?

I have been using MECH-Q, but that program is beyond broken in a 3d enviroment.

In this kind of programs the main is to configure it for the needs which you have and for the projects that you are releasing. After this all is easy. 

 There are firms of suport of Autodesk that offer the service to create the specs (I work in one of these). 

 Which manufacture of plastic pipes do you use? George Fischer?

Basically what I do, is design and draw land based Aquaculture systems.

All I really need is Sch 40, HDPE, and PVC-U pipes and fittings.  who makes the pipe is not important.

just the sizing of the pipes.  it's upto whoever is building the site to to aquire the piping.

as I said I am using Mech-Q, but it's broken.  I use it for laying pipe only, if I try to use mech-q's pipe fittings

the program usually crashes and the BOM gets corrupted and then I have to manually measure each length

of pipe. 

I am hoping Plant 3d will save time.  I have not had too much time to play with the trial, but I need

to know how much work it will take to get the pvc-u into the program - or how much it will cost

to have it added.

It will be nice, not to have to do a BOM from mech-q, then a data extraction from autocad to get a full parts list for the piping.  Aswell as having something more reliable than mech-q ( which corrupts BOM's regularly )

Install the trial and have a look at the Catalogs and Specs. There are lots of different items, but again, you can customise to suit your own needs, and once they are done, they are done for future projects also.

I have the trial installed and I like how it lays out the piping, but that is why I am asking if there is any PVC-U out there, and or do I have to do all the customization for it.

I currently have Mech-Q installed ( big mistake ) and it breaks too easily, and the program just does not run properly in 3d.

I have to use my own custom drawn pipe fittings and just use the mech-q for laying down pipe. which works, but the BOM breaks WAY to easily.  it's just a poorly written program.

but I am seeing how much work it will be to change over to plant 3d and if it will be worth the cost.
