Piping Spec- Rubber Lined Items - Elbows

Good Day

Below is an image of a typical fabricated bend which is used for rubber lined pipe.

Elbow with collar welded onto the ends, item then rubber lined , backing rings to fasten item.

Main reason for this configuration is if the pipe is slightly misalligned can compensate for this.

Would like this item to be one component on the bill of materials as fabricated and purchased like this?

Is there a way to be able to do this in plant 3D, this has to be a specification component, not user item!

Any suggestions or workarounds "as usual" welcome

Backing ring would typically be a FL and LAP connections.

Could we not have a elbow and a stub end welded together? "to be one item in BOM? then also fine.

Any assistance most welcome

Thanking You in Advance . . . .

Hello,

Have you tried changing the stubins and backing flanges to existing. Then modifying the description of the elbow as needed. If you change the Stubins and Flanges to Existing they will not show in the BOM.

If you want this to be one item on the BOM, then you would make it a Flanged Elbow in the Catalog. The Long Description would take care of what the part would be and whats contained in it, or the LD would point to a detailed drawing of the part.

There would be no need to model each individual part if you want it reported as one item.

Good Day

Appreciate suggestions - would opt to use the Flanged Elbow as this requires less work and not reliant on personal to change the status of items to existing. Geometric size of item can be maintained although Backing Ring neglected which can be indicated on a detailed drawing. Can see i would have to play a bit with the SKEY "iso symbols" to show a backinf ring in isogen?

Cheers

Correct. You could make a new SKEY for the item, which points to a different Iso symbol for that part. FYI, we don't use Isogen anymore, its AutoCAD Isometrics.
