NEW USER - I AM USING PLANT 3D - I WANT TO BUILD PILE LAYOUTS / PLOT PLANS BASED ON REAL WORLD COORDINATES . HOW DO I START ? I WANT TO BUILD THE SITE LAYOUT(INCLUDING SEPERATE PILE LAYOUTS ) IN 2D PRIOR TO CREATING PIPING & THEN SHIFT TO 3D FOR ELEVATIONS / FINAL REVIEW ETC..
I HAVE ATTACHED A TYPICAL PLOT /PILE LAYOUT THAT IS ISSUED FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE FACILITIES THAT I WORK ON .
There is a Plant Exchange website that has useful information related to Plant 3D. As you have time I would browser through the site because there is some useful information on the site. One item in particular I would have you look at is the white paper on "How to Manage Large Projects", this is found in the Resources area of the website. The other thing I would recommended is Plant 3D models should be located as close to the 0,0,0 origin as possible. Placing a model away from the 0,0,0 origin has shown to cause some issues with connection visibility and connection issues as well.
