P3D 2014 Ortho Layer Settings

I have seen the post re incorrect folder settings within the Orthos folder, however we use a different folder path for the Ortho drawings and I can't see where the Ortho Styles folder should go to allow me to edit the layer settings. Wherever I have tried it, it still comes up blank in the Project Manager.

Any ideas where the system looks for the OrthoConfig.xml file to allow editing?

Is this for a new 2014 project or a migrated project?

Initially a migrated project which I tried first, I then created a new project and copied the existing PIDs, models and drawings into it, neither worked.

OK so when you create a new project and set the Ortho folder to a different path it doesn't seem to create the Orthos folder in the project drectory structure and that's where it appears to look for the Styles\Default\OrthoConfig.xml file. Can't see anywhere this path gets set...

Also in the Metric_OrthoPart.xml file the path to SymbolAndStyleCacheFile was still set to the standard project we copy the settings from.

So do I need to manually copy these files and edit the Metric_OrthoPart.xml file for every new project I create?

The folders in the Orthos folder should be lie this:

DWGs

Orthocube Library

Styles

The layer setting file is the OrthoConfig.xml,  this should be  here:

Styles\Default\OrthoConfig.xml

I started a new project and pointed my Ortho drawing output folder to a differrent location than the project folders. When I did this it still created the other folders in the Ortho folder of the Project. I was able to go into Setup Title Block, Ortho Settings and was able to view and edit the settings. So, I am not sure why your is not creating these folders. You might try to do a Repair or Reinstall. If you do have a 2014 project with the folder created in the Ortho folder then you could try to copy them over and see if that works.

I think what happened was when we migrated our standard project which we use to copy settings from, the Ortho folders did not get created correctly and were consequently missing when I created a new project. I have added them into our standard project and it seems to work correctly now

There is a known issue that has been logged with development and they are looking to provide a solution in a future hotfix or update. The issue is that when a project is migrated, the new Ortho folders that are generated for a new project in Plant 3D 2014 are not created for the migrated project. The workaround would be to start a new Plant 3D 2014 project simliar to the migrated project and copy the contents of the Plant 3D 2014 Ortho folder to the Ortho folder of the migrated project.

I Solved my issue myself allready.

The folder Styles somehow was in the folder DWGs and not in the folder Orthos.

After moving the folder to where it should be everithing worked just as is should.
