I have an issue where I made a bunch of instruments like pi's, ti's, pt's, etc. they have 1 end connection so when I define the instrument as instrument and give it a symbol key, the instrument on the iso is dimensions it weird as if it were an inline instrument and the dimensions are hundreds of feet. (see photo below)
I think it has something to do with the type being instrument. Right now I have TYPE=INSTRUMENT,SKEY=INS. I made a box with the letter i inside of it and that came out wacky.
Maybe the type Instrument inside the isoconfig.xml is programmed to dimension inline instrumentation. I want to the dimensioning to stop at the fitting connecting the instrument. I don't need the instrument dimensions at all. Any help in solving this is greatly appreciated
Thank you,
Robert Cali
The port locations and insertion points are key in these scenarios.

David,
Thank you for looking into this for me. I looked at your procedure and I have a couple differences that throw a loop into it.
I need it to be an instrument type so that it will go into my Instrument group in the bill of materials. I noticed that when I do call it an instrument it throws crazy dimenisions at the end of the instrument. If I do it your way and call it a MISC-COMPONENT the dimensioning then goes to the end of the PORT2 that you create in the iso block. So your way works fine if you don't need it to be in the instrument group and if you want the overall dimension of the instrument. This is how I would like it to look (see 2 photos below) The dimensions stop at the stub end and or gasket. The threaded instruments would end at the coupling. I do not want to show a symbol either just a bubble near the end. Thanks Dave
At the bottom of the previously posted article, I showed how to use the FLOOR-SYMBOL group with a custom symbol key to exclude the component from dimensions and the bill of material. You should be able to modify the instrument filter so that the indicators are included in the instrument category.
Will that negate my inline instruments from being dimensioned? Thankyou, Robert

It depends on where else the filter is used. You could create a new filter and change the name and use that to find your BOM items. That would ensure the filter is not also being used to check for dimensioned items.
