When placing a nozzle on the side of a vertical vessel how do you get North to be 0deg, East to be 90deg, South to be 180deg, and West to be 270deg? Right now the South is 0deg, East is 90deg, North is 180deg, and West is 270deg.

There is no N,S,E,W option when adding nozzles to a vessel. The only option is to place the nozzles by angles of rotation. You maybe need to rotate your vessel to get the orientation you are wishing to obtain.

I am reffering to the UCS in the model when calling out N,S,E,W. Usually a modeler will build the equipment from a vessel drawing like I have attached that matches the UCS in the model. But in the case of P3D that can't happen. Rotating the vessel to get 0deg @ north just messes up the rest of the deg. There needs to be a way to get the placement of a nozzle to follow CW direction and not CCW with the degrees. I have attached a vessel drawing showing how every company I have ever received vendor info from show their nozzle orientations.
They do not use 2 sets of nozzle degree orientations like P3D(ie. 1 for vertical nozzles and 1 for horizontal nozzles). It makes checking and correlation of data a big headache for someone checking models vs. drawings.
Your problem is very simple. First, check your UCS if it set to world. Then Insert your Equipment, but you must follow this procedure. First, select your equipment then fill up all the necessary details. Then pick your desired coordinate or point where you want the equipment to be placed. NEXT AND MOST IMPORTANT, notice that your equipment is not yet placed, instead when you move your cursor, it looks like your equipment is rotating. After that, move your cursor northward (positive Y coordinate) if you are using TOP VIEW, just upward, if ISOVIEW SouthWest, it is northward (Use ortho snap F8 for your convenience). Then click left mouse button function again to accept and place your EQUIPMENT. Test it all you want if you have had what you wanted. Thanks.

Nozzle placement in Plant 3D usually reference the East (X) axis of your UCS. When placing the equipment - after in putting your coordinates, with orthogonal snap (F8) on. Direct your cursor in the East direction (along the X axis) and left click. You will find out that when you place your nozzle on the equipment, it will align with the world UCS East axis. Then you can using angle in the nozzle form to change the direction of the nozzle. Note: Make sure your UCS is world before placing the equipment.
