(Posted this response to the "textbook" thread)...

Within the product, you can access help topics that should help you in your tasks. Simply press F1.

In addition, you can find some tips and tricks videos that other users have found very helpful. Those videos are available on Plant Exchange (www.autodesk.com/plantexchange). Click Tips and Tricks videos and watch those that you are interested in.

I'm not aware of any textbooks (or tutorials) that cover the product in a comprehensive manner. Perhaps other users can recommend some.

Hope this helps,

Hi Paul,

My name is Barend-Jan (BJ) van Zijtveld and i work for a reseller in the Netherlands. I have wrote an English Essentials manual for AutoCAD Plant 3D 2010 (about 300 pages from start to finish including exercises) and am currently looking into updating it to 2011. I'm also starting to write an advanced manual on Plant 3D but that is not bound to come out soon (I need to update the essentials first). If you are interested in purchasing a copy we could help you out, or you could wait somewhat longer as we are also in negotiation with a publisher to publish the books in the nearby future (I also wrote AutoCAD P&ID Essentials and Advanced).

If you don't want to wait sent me an e-mail to my work address barend@cadteam.nl and i'll let you know what the book will cost and how you can order it. If you want to keep up-to-date you also might join my workgroup on linked-in called AutoCAD Plant 3D users were we reguraly discuss what should be in the courseware and what not.

Regards,
Barend-Jan (BJ) van Zijtveld
