Lap joint flanges showing additional flange

I hope someone can help me with this...

When I attach a flange with a "stub end" to the end of a pipe it always adds an additonal flange, is there any way I can stop this from happening?

The auto flange function works well when I place a flange joint between an elbow and pipe.

When you select the flange to insert, hold down the CTRL key as you are placing the end of the pipe. It should only place one flange.

Also, be sure you are looking at the command line once you have selected the flange to place.

It will read:

EXECUTETOOL Specify insertion point or press Ctrl key to select next attachment port [Next]:

You can then change the orientation or insertion point by inputting N into the command line [Enter].  Once the orientation or insertion point has been changed, Plant 3D should insert only one flange when inserted at the end of a pipe line.

Hi Quentin,

Thanks very much for the that, that's exactly what I need.

However my next problem is that when I then try to attach another lap joint flange to the one I've just inserted it will add the flange and gasket but not the stub end, so it appears almost like a blind flange. On the attached image the bottom joint is what I am hoping to get.

Hi Quentin,

I've had a bit more time to play around with this and I now understand a little more on how it all works with regard to command sequence.

Thanks very much for your help.
