Identifying as "Revised"

I'm looking for a good way to identify parts of a pipe line as "Revised". We are about to push out our first revision using Plant 3D and I'm not really sure of the best way to do this. I was hoping there would be a REVISED status in addition to the NEW, EXISTING, and DEMOLITION. Can a REVISED status be added somewhere? I was also wondering if using a REVISED layer would be the best route. We aren't producing isos, just issuing pdf of drawings along with the project dwgs and Navisworks models. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance...

Changing the layer could be problematic if you have layer automation turned on in the project settings. The items will be forced back to the automation layer settings when the project is refreshed. You can add a 'Revised' status option by adding it to the status property picklist but you might run into problems with Iso and/or report filtering. I think the best way to go would be to create a new picklist property called 'Revision', give it numbers 0 thru ~10 as options and set it to default to 0.

In the set up, edit the list that contain the " new, existing, etc." or create n new property name it revised create a list like " yes or no" or as mentioned by jabowabo, create a property that identifies your revision number. Thanks

That sounds like a good approach.

By adding a REVISION property, is there a way to get that to trigger some visual difference in the model? Maybe change the color of the components that have the REVISION property set to something other than 0.

Yes there is, set your added property "revision" as the " assign color by" query. Just go to the project setup, layers and colors category. I hope it works. Thanks
