How to add new end type?

There's an end type that's missing - "SB" (silverbrazed). In Plant 3D DWG Settings/Piping Connection Settings/Add Joint dialog, I went to add the new end type and that's where I stopped. The current "Socketwelded" name uses End 1 = PL & END2 = SW. But there doesn't appear to be a way of adding a new end type code.

How do I add "SB" to the list of end type selection boxes? In Spec Editor, Catalog Editor, and/or Catalog Builder, I want to be able to select "SB" as an end type. "Add Joint" dialog won't cut it because the end type codes are defined someplace else. Where?

In Plant3D, type PLANTENDCODES

If your using a network setup with multiple users, you will need to add it to every install manually as the file containing the info is in your programs folder on your local drive.

I have asked (before 2012 came out) for this to be moved to the plant content area so it will work in a multi user environment

It wasnt fixed for 2012, I havent used 2013 yet as Ive been doing mech stuff for a while so I dont know if this has been fixed yet.

Nope, that's not it. It only applies to Plant 3D. It doesn't work for Spec Editor and Catalog Builder because they are different programs. I added SB (silverbraze) to a project properties. In Catalog Editor, I copied a SW valve and tried to change the end connection to SB; SB wasn't on the list.

On a hunch, I opened another project and looked at the properties - SB was not there. When I returned to the project properties where I had added SB, it was now gone! The Save didn't take.

So we have a major problem. Any company that intends to create a project using fittings per Mil-F-1183 is going to be SOL unless Autodesk can come up with a working solution to adding a silverbrazed joint to the end types. Then there are other projects that will need to use cast bronze silverbrazed fittings, such as Flagg-Flow, and they won't be able to do it. How about the marine industry for a start? Don't forget submarines and the US Navy, too (and other countries that build submarines). Doesn't New Zealand and Australia have shipyards?
There's lots of other types of piping joints I haven't mentioned.

Yeah, I became aware that it's a project thing, and that presents a big problem for Catalog Builder. Thanks for the tip.

Not sure about the way your trying to add the endtype.

Ive added MANY different end types without issue.

your VAR should be able to help you with training.

We have some excellent shipyards in australia.

Our marine insustry is renowned around the world for having superior quality (only problem is our quality comes at a high price due to our economy of scale).

Did you ever hear about the Colins Class Submarines debacle...thats about the only stain on aussie shipbuilding I know of.

The end type pulldown in the Catalog Editor can be edited, you're not restricted to whats in the list, just type in the new end code (refer attached image)

The workflow is to add the new end codes to the software, via PLANTENDCODES and then in Catalog Editor, type in that end code (and of course checking that its in the Piping Connection Settings in the Project Properties also)
