How to add label on the 3D pipe?

How to add label on the 3D pipe (such as high pressure dangerous...). I try to use the "imprint", but the program say the 3D is not a 3D object.

There is any simple to put label on the pipe, like the inventor?

I've seen a Lisp that creates 3D text. You can also follow these steps:

The problem is the pipe is not considered 3D object. I try this methed. it does not work.

It does work, the link I posted is talking about unioning the extruded parts of the text together.  I found a link to the Lisp file that lets you create 3D text easily.

Maybe I did not say it clearly. The lisp you provide is for 3D text. I am trying to add text to the pipe surface. To make it  look like someone add label to the pipe surface.
