My company has standardized on using 300# RF flanged thermowells in our 150# & 300# systems. So in our 150# systems, we just insert a 300# flange for the thermowell.
What is the P3D best practice for this situation?
Should I add a 300# flange, gasket and bolt to my 150# spec?
Should I have a spec change to the 300# spec for just this item?
Is there a cleaner way of inserting 'catalog' items that are not part of a spec?
Thanks in advance.

What's the paper spec say? Is there an allowance for the different ratings, or does the P&ID specify a spec change?
Within our 150# paper spec, it has an allowance to use the 300# flange for this purpose. Our 150# paper spec also calls for 300# orifice flanges.
I've added these specific items to the 150# P3D spec and it all seems to work properly, I was just wondering what the best way to handle this type of thing in P3D.
We haven't used the Plant P&ID product as of yet.
Thanks.
Agreed.
